General Administration

  • Must pay for Genius app.

  • Saturday morning is the official Gnome day of play, first three tee times.  Other rounds which may count toward season long competitions may be determined based on total number of players playing.

  • Registration is open for all future events weeks.  Do not expect email reminders.

  • Tee times and pairings on the app by Friday evening. Do not expect an email with tee sheet - they may or may not be delivered.

  • Please RSVP by Thursday evening whether or not you are playing.

Day of Play Procedures

  • Captain, the first person listed on the tee sheet for each pairing, should gather cash from players and ask someone to do live scoring and someone to keep a paper card.

  • Arrive early enough to give your cash to the captain and be ready to play. Late arrivals/no shows will be severely frowned upon.

  • The bet is $15 and the game usually includes one singles match and one team match of some sort and a skins game.

  • Please verify the hole-by-hole scores among your group before scoring is done.

  • Pairings are always randomized to maximize the mix-up (except for special situations where players co-pay for carts).

BVPOA Local Rules

  • All no mow areas (native grass) are to be treated as a lateral hazard.

  • The no mow line is considered the hazard line in the absence of stakes.

  • Birdhouse posts painted red, white or yellow are to be treated as corresponding hazard stakes

  • Unmarked rock drainage is considered Ground Under Repair (GUR).

  • All fans are temporary immovable obstructions and relief is available for intervention (line of sight) as well as lie of ball, stance, and area of intended swing.

  • The natural hazard (cut bank, rock edge or water edge) is the hazard line.

  • Bridges over hazards are part of the hazard.

  • Wild flower plots and flower beds are played as GUR.

  • Should line of sight between hazard stakes intersect with the no mow area or natural hazard, the hazard will be defined by the no mow line or the natural hazard line at the point of intersect.

  • Washed out areas in traps are played as GUR. Drop ball in trap no closer to the hole.

  • Rocks in traps are considered loose impediments and can be removed.

GNOMES Rule of Play

  • All games are played using your current handicap TREND, not your latest revision.

  • Must have valid POA index and you are responsible to update your TREND prior to each event so that the admin for that week does not have to do it.

  • “Preferred lies” are not in effect unless conditions warrant – don't touch the ball!

  • There is no “rock rule” or “root rule” - you may declare an unplayable lie and proceed accordingly.

  • All putts must be holed.

  • Maximum 18 course handicap is 14.  Maxiumum 9 hole course handicap is 7.
