Welcome to the Celebrity Bar Cup Player of the Year Homepage.  

 

The Celebrity Bar Cup is a season-long, Player of the Year, point system.  It is based on and similar to the PGA Tour’s FedEx Cup Points.

 

Format:  Points are awarded for Men’s weekend tee events and selected other special events throughout the golf season.  Members contributing to the Men’s Prize Fund are eligible to win the Celebrity Bar Cup.  There will be five Player of the Year winners all based on Handicap Class as of the first weekend tee event of the season.  Points will be allocated on an individual basis and divided up proportionally in partner and team events.  The person with the most points in each Handicap Class at the end of the last event will be named Player of the Year.

 

Handicap Classes and Tees:

                Weekend Tee Events

  • Championship Class (0-7) from Blue Tees
  • A Class (8-12) from Blue Tees
  • B Class (13-18) from Blue Tees
  • C Class (19-24) from Blue Tees
  • D Class (25-up) from Green Tees

Special “Major” Events

  • From the tees designated in the 2016 Golf Event Book

 

Events:

  • All weekend tee events except “Pick-A-Pro” from a PGA Tour Major ProAm, Blind Bogey, and Par 3 Closest To The Flags
  • Major events including Opening Day, Yegge Cup, Club Championship, Memorial Day, Revolta Cup, Member/Member, and Closing Day

*Note* - Events such as Rodeo Day and the Donald Ross Invitational are not included

*Note* - In events where players must qualify (Yegge if necessary, Club Championship) and do not, they will receive points for their participation in the qualifying process

 

Ties: In the event of tie for most points, the tie will be broken by most 1st Place finishes throughout the season.  If that does not break the tie, then the most 2nd Places finishes, then 3rd, etc.

 

Duration: From the first applicable weekend Tee event of the season through Closing Day.  Players will be notified throughout the week what the weekend Tee Event will be and if it will count towards Celebrity Bar Points.

 

Prizes: Each winner will receive an engraved 2016 Celebrity Bar Player of the Year Trophy along with golf shop credit.

 

Results: Results and Points will be tracked and posted on the club website, emailed out, and posted in the locker room.
